The Goudy's

We are Stephen and Deandra. A Senior Systems Engineer (computer geek) and Accounts Receivables Manager at Blakeman Transportation as well as general keep-things-under-control (including him) domestic engineer. We love to travel and are always looking for a new adventure!

It all began one fateful trip to church camp…

He was in 9th grade, I was in 8th. The fairy tale actually stops there because we were not dating… just friends. I would love to say we were high school sweethearts that married right after graduation, but such was not our tale. However, we did meet back up a handful of years later. He had just separated from the Marine Corps and I had returned to our home town. We were married shortly after. That was 1990 and the beginning of a wonderful legacy that has blossomed into a beautify family including four grandchildren.

In early 2017, we decided it was time for a change. At this point we had been around the world on various assignments for his career (the most recent being the Kingdom of Bahrain). Traveling and moving our household from place to place became a circus of boxes, packing, and never quite managing to find everything at each consecutive stop. As such, we decided a more minimalist lifestyle might be the better choice. In December, 2017, we made the first step in converting dream to reality by purchasing a 1952 Spartan Royal Spartanette travel trailer. Our goal is to renovate this trailer into our dream home on wheels by August so that we will be ready to move out of our house and into our mobile castle. Our plan is to remain in Fort Worth as our base of operations, keeping us close to our children, and travel to various destinations a few times a year. Among these destinations are a couple of motorcycle rallies and a few nature centric destinations (beach, mountains, etc.) as opportunity, and our nomadic tendencies, call us into motion.
